A magnificent stately "club" where I felt like a privileged member
The bathrooms in the room. They were very small and no counter space, very dissastisfied.
Great room, convenient location in downtown LA, helpful staff, excellent workout facilities w/ indoor track and swimming pool, first class breakfast included every morning with made-to-order omelettes, etc.
A little far from the convention center, but the conference had a shuttle which stopped at the Sheraton 2 blocks away so no big deal. Also outside the hotel there were some "questionable" street people but they weren't too aggressive so not a big problem.
The reception was welcoming and helpful. The accommodation in the suites was spacious and comfortable, although the decor in the polo suite was a little dark. The hotel ambiance is that of a gentleman's club, comfortable and civilised and superior to other well-known hotel chains. The inclusive buffet breakfast is comprehensive. The adjacent covered parking at $12 a day was easy to use. The restaurant menu was limited but varied and the food and service were very good and good value for downtoun la. We would unhesitatingly stay there on future visits to la.
The inadequate sound insulation of the windows, allowing traffic noise to penetrate.
spa, breakfast, and clear
The Staff were very helpful, engaging and accommodating. It was nice not having to reach into your pocket every 5 minutes for tips (as is what it seems at other hotels) Breakfast was a great selection and added value to our stay
The tea and coffee weren't what we were used to. A kettle and tea bags in the room would've suited us better as we do not drink coffee.
Location, sports facilities are amazing, parking lot directly connected with hotel, although additionally paid. Excellent breakfast, comfy rooms.
A bit strange tv turning on procedure (yes, whole procedure!). Generally very satisfied with this choice.
I cannot say I loved Los Angeles, but the hotel is great. Staff is very nice, they upgraded us to the suite: big, clean, extremely comfortable. Perfectly working WiFi. But in general, the whole hotel is amazing! It's has a great history, with old furniture books painting and photos about the Athletic Club. Hotel clients can access the sporting facilities and the breakfast room (continental, very good) is basically a real classy restaurant with a very nice service. Great place, I'd definitely come back! PS: if you're a fan of U2, walk down 7th Street. After five minutes you'll be at the crossroad with Main Street. The short building with "Margarita's Place" is the building where U2 shot the video of "Where the streets have no name" ;-)
i like every thing about the hotel, there is nothing that you don't like.... supperrrrrrr.
The rooms and the other facilities available to guests at the laac were excellent. The breakfast was very good and available in the Grill Room, a very nice area with good service. Several daily newspapers were freely available on all floors. We felt pampered and wish we could have stayed for a longer period.
The 'Club' has a classy but very dark decor. It was a little unnerving at first but we got over it.
excellent athletics and lots of help. Very friendly even though I am not a member. Very calm amd relaxing.
Very comfortable room, great staff and facilities. Would definately stay there again.
This hotel is an oasis of civilization amidst zany LA. The althletic facilities don't get much better than here and include a large swimming pool. Food was well done and you feel like you are in a very special and historic place.
The place is really nice and the location is great.
When I got into the room the ac was not working, building may be a little outdated.
Access to the full sports/gym facilities. Central to "old" downtown Los Angeles. Good room service (dining).
